Chapter 40: What Type does Ms. Gu Like

When Jiang Chi heard his mother’s words, he frowned. “Don’t let your imagination run wild!”

He really had to give it to her. Moreover, he could guess what his mother was thinking about from her doubtful eyes.

He said, “I’ve only known her for a few days. There are no feelings between us.”

Mother Jiang asked, “Then who do you have feelings for?”

Jiang Chi said nothing.

Mother Jiang looked at him and said, “Regardless, just have a child with her as soon as possible! We’ll be reassured in that case.”

Jiang Chi looked at his mother and said, “We’ll talk about it another time.”

“What’s ‘talk about it another time’?” Mother Jiang asked. “Can’t you just agree right away?”

“Mom…”

Mother Jiang rubbed her forehead. “My head hurts again.”

Jiang Chi replied, “Got it, I promise! Is that alright? You really know how to torture your son the moment he is back!”

When Mother Jiang and Jiang Chi came down, Gu Xiang was still sitting on the sofa.

Mother Jiang said, “I’m going to the dining hall. Get your wife to join us for dinner.”

Jiang Chi said nothing in return. His mother had already left. She entrusted him with this challenging task. Looking at Gu Xiang, he walked straight up to her and looked at her with a complicated gaze. Gu Xiang lifted her head and, not taking it lying down, locked eyes with him.

She wanted to see what he was trying to do.

Jiang Chi said, “You really know how to complain!”

“Complain?” A confused look appeared on Gu Xiang’s face. “What does Mr. Jiang mean by that? What did I complain about?”

“Did you tell my Mom that we did not consummate our marriage?” Jiang Chi continued. “Why did you tell her such private things?”

Gu Xiang blinked her eyes innocently when she heard Jiang Chi’s words. “I said that? What evidence do you have?”

This was truly hilarious! She thought that he was the one who said it!

Jiang Chi said, “If it wasn’t you, how did Mom find out?”

“Go ask her! Why are you asking me?” Gu Xiang said. “What do you think of me? I would rather find a random man on the streets than be interested in you.”

After speaking, she stood up and said, “I’m going to the bathroom. I’m not having dinner as I have no appetite.”

She had intended to accompany his family members for a meal but Jiang Chi’s attitude had really upset her. After speaking, Gu Xiang headed to the washroom.

Looking at her back and thinking about how arrogant she was, Jiang Chi followed behind her immediately. Before Gu Xiang could close the door, Jiang Chi entered as well.

Looking at the absurd man, she shouted, “Get out!”

Jiang Chi replied, “I just chided you and you’re not having dinner. What a temper you have!”

“I was born this way.” Gu Xiang leaned on the sink and looked at him. “Mr. Jiang, are you a pervert? You have to follow me even when I’m using the toilet? People who are unaware are probably thinking about what we’re doing inside.”

Before she could finish her words, Jiang Chi rested his hands on the sink while he towered over her, making it impossible for her escape. His face was right in front of hers. Gu Xiang felt as though she were in his arms.

Gu Xiang was definitely the one who despised Jiang Chi the most out of all the women he knew. She would show her disdain for him time and time again, and make it sound as though he were useless.

Looking at Gu Xiang, he said, “Since Ms. Gu is always looking down on me and doesn’t like my type, I’m really curious what type you like.”

Since he was inches away from her, his face was magnified. His exquisite facial features made him look like a great sculpture. His dark gaze made Gu Xiang feel uncomfortable.

Filthy man!

Was he trying to make use of his height to bully her if he could not outargue her?
