Then, without a word, five days later, he suddenly barged in.
From the time she found out she was a measly extra, even now, she didn’t dare to understand the main character’s plan and was merely confused.
“Your Majesty… Please, now just…”
With slicked-back silver hair and a gold monocle, Hughes couldn’t wait any longer and complained to Deon.
As mentioned previously, it’s been two hours. TWO HOURS. It couldn’t have been easy, standing in the same spot for that long.
On top of that, Hughes was not as fit as Deon and the people around him.
If it were monsters like Jonathan or Harper, they would’ve stood upright like trees for the two hours, they could even stand for twenty.
But for him, who had only studied for all 20 years of his life, his thin frame was already past its capability.
‘My head already aches badly enough, do I need to add bodily aches as well?!’
For the last five days, Hughes’s head was spinning even faster than Kathia’s.
Why? Hughes kept nagging Deon, but Deon wouldn’t tell him the reason why he created the mess at the trial grounds.
For the longest time, he had been doing rather well playing the part of a useless Imperial Prince. But then, Deon insisted on putting himself at the center of attention all of a sudden, and Hughes couldn’t understand why.
On top of that, inquisitive eyes shot from the Second Consort and the Duke of Tanium… felt very aggravating.
But oh my god. Soon after waking up this morning and giving the order to get ready to leave, Hughes swiftly followed after him towards the detached palace Kathia lived in.
Hughes wanted to praise himself for not foaming at the mouth and fainting till now.
“If it’s alright, you can have a seat here.”
Kathia patted the seat next to her because she couldn’t help glancing at the incessant shaking from Hughes’ legs.
The size of the detached palace was so small that the living room was very quaint. In a small room with a terrace, there was only a table and two sofas.
The sofa was comfortable enough for one person but would probably be iffy for two. However, if they sat tightly together, it could be just enough for two.
With a brightened-up face, Hughes slowly and shakily moved. Before he became Deon’s page, he, from the Glodis Marquisate, was granted the privilege to sit with the imperial family.
He wanted to rush to have a seat. But because of formalities, he needed his master, Deon, to grant him permission.
Deon glanced at him before asking.
“Want to have a seat?”
Such an obvious remark. Hughes nodded like his head was going to fall off.
If this were Deon’s quarters, he would’ve made fun of Hughes’ weak legs and kicked him in the shins, but all in all, right now, he was acting like a generous Imperial Prince so he may grant it.
“Sit.”
As expected, Deon granted his permission willingly.
“Here.”
Beside HIM.
Hughes glared at Deon like he had gone crazy. He looked over many times, but Deon’s finger was still pointing to the seat next to him.
It’ll be a little tight, Kathia mumbled.
Although Hughes was slender, he was still a guy, and Deon had much wider shoulders.
That’s why she recommended the seat next to her.
“…I would rather stand up.”
“Is that so?”
“Yes.”
I’d rather have my legs broken. Deon smiled contently as Hughes refused.
“I guess that’s how it is. Thank you for being considerate, Sister.”
“Mm…”
Kathia nodded with effort. To note, don’t completely trust Deon’s sweet talk and voice.
Since it’s all an act.
According to the original novel, the sweeter the smile and the more angelic he acts, the more she needs to be cautious.
There was an added comment that, as soon as someone became careless and turned around, their neck could fall off.
But he seems to be smiling unusually pretty currently, or am I mistaken?
Swallowing her saliva, Kathia quickly got up from her seat. Before it’s too late, she felt the need to thank him.
“I know I was out of line. You must’ve been taken aback, but thank you so much for helping me. Truly, I thank you.”
Expressing her heartfelt gratitude, her wavy pink hair poured onto the table.
Madam Murphy and Hughes rushed to look away quickly. It is implausible for anyone to see a member of the imperial family bend their back.
As Madam Murphy and Hughes diverted their attention away, Kathia put her hands on the table and even lowered her head as much as she could.
She was sorry for unintentionally grabbing the front of his shirt or being so close to his face every time they met, but there was one thing she must tell Deon.
“Lend me your ears momentarily…”
Her long, light pink hair lightly brushed against Deon’s cheek. For Deon, who only had black and white, it was as if a tint of blush was added onto him.
Tickled, he flinched. Kathia kept her voice down and whispered.
“Be wary of the Second Prince.”
His previously slightly softened dark eyes immediately sharpened. They looked cold and heavy.
