Chapter 49 Six Weeks
Anita caught up with Sophia and said carefully, “Sophia, calm down. That’s my brother for you. He often scolds his employees and makes them cry. When it comes to working, he is cold. You don’t have to be bothered with what he
says.”
Although Anita disagreed with what Sebastian said, he was still her brother. She didn’t want Sophia to have strong prejudice against him.
It would be even better if the two could get along. Sophia had always been one who knew right from wrong, and even if she didn’t like Sebastian, she wouldn’t vent her feelings on Anita.
For some unknown reason, she felt that Sebastian hated hearing her talk about anything sexual. It was not of boredom and irritability but resentment and unhappiness, quite like a feeling of self-harm.
What she said to him was like throwing a knife at him. She did not know why those words hurt him, but she would still use them anyway. After all, he did make her angry. After saying that, her anger almost subsided.
“I know. I won’t be angry because of those few words! I will prove to him that I am qualified to intern at NRTE!”
Anita heaved a sigh of relief. “That’s good. But if you want to enter NRTE as an intern, I can help you.” Although her brother did not like her meddling in their company’s affairs, he was not so heartless that he would not even give her a chance to intern at his company. She could give her spot to Sophia.
Sophia burst out laughing. She shook her head and said, “If I want to prove my ability to him, I have to rely on my efforts to get his approval. If I get into NRTE through connections, how can I break his prejudice against me? How will I face him in the future?”
That was true, too…
Anita gave in and said, “Alright then.”
Sophia looked at the time and said, “We promised Claude that we would go to watch his match today. There are less than twenty minutes left until the match. Let’s go to the stadium.”
As Claude said, today’s game was a friendly match between the Rotary University football team and the Remnos Academy football team. Although it was officially a friendly game, it was only happening because the Rotary University football team was the champion last semester. They won Remnos Academy using underhanded tricks, and the scores were not much different. This unsettled the opposing football players, and they asked for a rematch. However, it was a huge event, so a rematch was impossible. After negotiation, the two schools decided to hold a friendly match to appease their players.
The intensity of this friendly match was like that of the finals.
Remnos Academy even brought a cheerleading team.
Seeing that the other party took it so seriously, Rotary University did not want to be outdone. They gathered their cheerleaders to confront the other party.
However, Sophia and Anita were not among them.
The two found a suitable spot and waited for the match to begin as they whispered to each other.
Anita said, “The baby is already six weeks old. What does a six-week-old baby look like?”
Sofia replied, “It’s as big as a blueberry. The doctor said that it has developed a kidney and a heart. Its heart is only about this big.”
She gestured with her finger. “Say, a small sunflower seed.”
Anita exclaimed, “It’s so small. Can we hear its heartbeat now?”
“Yes. Its heartbeat is really fast.”
A six-week-old fetus was about three grams and was no more than one centimeter long.
Sophia’s abdomen was still flat, so no one could tell that she was pregnant.
“I can’t wait to know if it is a boy or a girl. Then, I can start preparing clothes for it.” “It’s not time yet. But regardless of the baby’s sex, anything should be fine, right?” Anita said defiantly, “There are still some differences.”
As the two were happily discussing, something changed in their surroundings. A tall figure stood before them, blocking something for them.
The man groaned in pain. The two looked up and saw that the person was Sebastian.
Anita hurried over and saw the skateboard on the ground. She asked nervously, “Sebastian, are you okay?”
Sophia also looked at him helplessly.
Sebastian did not look at the two. Instead, he turned around to look at the student hurriedly coming over to pick up the skateboard.
The student kept apologizing, “I’m sorry. I thought I could control it. I didn’t know it would suddenly fly this far. I’m sorry!” Without waiting for Sebastian to say anything, pale-faced Sophia walked from behind him and criticized, “Are you looking for something exciting that you’re skateboarding in such a place? You didn’t give it much thought, did you? What if the skateboard went out of control and hurt someone?”
It was fortunate that Sebastian had helped her block that skateboard today. The skateboard would have hit her and hurt her unborn child if it weren’t for him.
