Chapter 9: Survival Was The Most Important Thing

Irene felt as if she had fallen into an ice cave. It was over. She was done for.
Would Ronald throw her to feed the hounds?
No, no, no. The thought of dying in the jaws of a dog made her indignant. She had gone through so much hardship and she refused to meet her ending like this. Irene’s mind was working frantically.
Ronald walked toward her. Every step felt like a step on her heart. Just as Ronald was about to pat her on the shoulder, Irene instantly turned around and threw herself into his arms. She sobbed, “G-General!”
She cried even louder, “I-I’m lost! Wah—!”
Ronald felt the woman in his arms shudder, as if she was really frightened.
The woman who had been speaking confidently in front of him not long ago had turned into a crybaby in a blink of an eye. Ronald felt a headache coming up; which side was the real her?
Ronald saw the armor she was wearing and frowned. He pulled the woman out of the embrace. “Why are you dressed like this?”
His voice was as deep as still waters. Ronald suddenly remembered that a few days before the wedding, the soldier told him that his wife looked like she wanted to run away. He did not believe it, but now that she had dressed up as a soldier, he could not help but have a trace of doubt.
Irene lowered her head and sniffed. She looked pitiful. “I-I wanted to be like a boy since I was young, to be able to participate in training and become a real soldier, but father has never allowed me to do that. S-So I wanted to try today, but I did not expect to go the wrong way and come here instead—”
As she spoke, she looked like she was about to cry again.
She irritated Ronald so much that he couldn’t think properly. He pinched his eyebrows and didn’t know what to say.
Irene lifted her gaze to gauge out Ronald’s expression. Seeing this, Irene immediately offered a passionate kiss, interrupting Ronald’s thoughts.
The height difference between them was great, so Irene couldn’t elevate herself for long. Ronald curled his thin lips and picked up Irene, taking the opportunity to deepen the kiss.
Ronald carried Irene back to the palace, kicked open the door, and threw Irene onto the quilt.
Irene saw that Ronald was going to press down on her and wanted to raise her hand to block his advances, but then she remembered the doubt in his eyes today. In the end, she gave up. Forget it. At most, she would drink the birth control pills. Now, the most important thing was to appease this demon.
Ronald’s kiss was long and straightforward. A strong sensation domineered her senses and wouldn’t let her go. One hand wrapped around her waist, and the other hand undid her clothes.
Irene felt all the blood in her body flow back into her brain. It was so swollen that her brain was dizzy. Even her body went limp.
Suddenly, the man’s breathing became heavier. The heavy body that leaned against her began to shake violently. Irene could clearly feel the pain of her lower body being torn apart. Her nails were embedded in Ronald’s back.
Ronald felt her trembling. He moved gently and kissed Irene’s earlobe. Irene shivered even more violently. Ronald used this to divert Irene’s attention.
When Ronald came for the first time, Irene felt that it might not hurt as much even if she was bitten to death by a hunting hound.
When Ronald came for the second time, she felt that the rumor that the general was not close to women might be false.
When Ronald came for the third time, she felt that the general had definitely seen countless women.
..
Ronald tortured her until the latter half of the night before he let go of her. He hugged Irene, who was exhausted from the torture, and looked at Irene’s closed eyes. “If you really want to escape today, I might really throw you into the wolves’ den. I hope you will never try to deceive me.”
He planted a kiss on Irene’s forehead before turning around to turn off the bedside lamp.
Only then did Irene open her eyes, trembling. Throw her into the wolves’ den?
Irene trembled in fear. She swallowed her saliva and tried to calm herself down. She planned to escape the next time, but that plan had to be flawless. She could not take the risk like today.
