- Chapter 4 - Temptation Only You Don’t Know Chapter 4
Chamer: “…A nasty thing. I thought I told you not to call me such a bizarre name.”
The man with long platinum hair looked down at Lavella with a displeased look.
The man, whose skin was pure white as if it was sprinkled with pearl powder, had long, rich eyelashes that hung over his golden eyes, and looked as beautiful as if he had jumped out of a picture book.
When a man with a translucent shape walked proudly and sat down, it was enough to give the illusion that the crude wood looked luxurious.
Chamer: “How did I end up with a person like this…”
A man with a thin finger on his forehead groaned.
Lavella: “Oh? I am not guilty of anything. You chose me first. Even with a collar like this.”
Lavella spun the choker in her hand and made a triumphant face.
Lavella: “Hey.”
The man’s golden eyes glared fiercely at Lavella. They looked so similar that anyone could mistake them for a family.
Chamer: “Lord Chamer.”
Lavella: “Yes, great and noble Grand Wizard Lord Chamer.”
Chamer sighed at Lavella’s sarcasm.
Well, when they first met she called him ‘Old man’. When he told her to be careful with her words, her title for him changed to Lord Old man, and when he scolded her, she called him by the weird title of brother again.
She was such a spoiled brat that it made him want to kick her ass if he could. It was even more unpleasant for her to tease him with a face that looked just like his.
Chamer: “So, what did you call me for?”
Chamer got to the point, thinking that he should end the conversation quickly.
Lavella: “Hey, is there anyone else who has crossed over to this world besides me?”
Chamer: “Why are you asking that?”
Chamer instantly stiffened his shoulders.
Lavella: “No, I just saw a guy who said something strange.”
Chamer: “There is no such person.”
It was an immediate and decisive answer.
Lavella: “…Really? No matter how much you talk, it’s not fun to lie. You know that, right?”
Lavella, who was looking at Chamer suspiciously, smiled languidly and warned him.
Chamer: “……If you’re done talking, I’ll go.”
Lavella: “Yes, go, old man.”
After further interrogation, it was unlikely that the stubborn wizard would open his mouth. As Lavella waved her hand, Chamer’s body began to blur.
Lavella: “Next time I call you, You’ll be right there. Right?”
Lavella, who was looking at his figure, muttered with her hand on her chin.
Chamer: “…I’ll try.”
Chamer’s belated response had already disappeared into thin air.
Lavella: “You’re tough.”
Lavella, with her tongue stuck out, rolled over and lay down on the bed.
Lavella: “Anyway, I have no choice but to see him again…”
Lavella muttered as if she was annoyed.
* * *
It was three days after returning to the guild.
Argen: “Captain, there’s a new commission.”
Lavella, who saw Argen entering the office, was lying on a chair and woke up.
Even if it was an office, it was actually a library that collected important documents from the guild. Although it’s inaccessible for everyone except for Lavella and Argen, and the important members in the guild.
Argen: “…What are you so worried about these days?”
Argen, who glanced at Lavella’s face, asked while putting down the request form on the desk. She had been blasé about everything for the past few days like a boring person.
Lavella: “No. I just had something to think about. What is the request?”
Argen was in charge of all the household chores of the guild thanks to his ability to find money and his bright mind.
Simple requests tended to be distributed to Argen, and bringing them to Lavella was quite a big deal.
Argen: “The request is not difficult. It’s a delivery of goods. However, there is no client information. I’ve put requests through several information guilds.”
Lavella: “That’s a lot of caution.”
Argen: “Yes, most of all, he wants the Captain to come in person.”
Lavella: “…Really?”
Argen: “Indeed, it’s no joke.”
Argen rolled his fingers into a circle like the shape of money and smiled.
(TL/N: If you don’t know what he’s doing, it’s the “Pay Me” hand gesture people make when they talk about money.)
Lavella: “The calculations are clear. Just put two guys who can use their strength.”
Argen: “Okay. And the guy the Captain was talking about…”
Lavella: “Iska? Ha, you still haven’t found anything?”
Lavella buried herself in the chair and opened one eye crookedly.
Argen: “Uhuh, I’ve never seen anything like this before.”
Argen shook his head with a puzzled expression.
Lavella bit her lip. Iska. He disappeared leaving only the words to see him again, and did not appear until Lavella received the balance from the Lord and left the village.
After returning to the guild, she continued to search for traces of him, but she could not obtain any information. It was as if he was someone who did not exist in this world from the beginning.
Argen: “Anyway, I’ll keep digging. Something will come up.”
Lavella: “Yes.”
Argen, who lowered his body as Lavella nodded lightly, closely examined Lavella’s face.
Lavella: “What?”
Lavella responded by rolling her eyes as if she was annoyed.
Argen: “But what are you gonna do when you find him?”
Lavella: “Are you curious?”
Lavella smiled and met Argen’s eyes.
Argen: “You said he was a very pretty man. Captain, are you planning to date?”
Lavella: “Oh, you weren’t there, were you?”
Argen’s curiosity seemed to be aroused.
Lavella: “Nothing about dating. I’m thinking about killing him.”
Lavella laughed.
Lavella: “So, find him at any cost.”
Lavella, who quickly returned with a cool look, ordered with a chill.
* * *
Lavella: “Let’s get started.”
They were at a mountainside quite far from the guild. When they reached their destination, they scanned the area around the cabin that had been hidden among the large cypress trees. After confirming there were no traps, Lavella stopped one of her men and approached the cabin with the others.
Lavella: ‘It’s strange.’
Lavella thought it was too easy, but she had no choice but to move. As requests have always been a matter of uncertainty. But the inside of the cabin, which she entered tensely, was empty.
Lavella: “What is this?”
Lavella murmured as if it were absurd.
Guild Member Suha: “Captain, look at this.”
Lavella: “?”
Annoyed, Lavella unfolded Suha’s note as if she was tearing it apart.
[I will take the items. If you want to find it, come to the cabin to the west. But come alone. I’m not sure what will happen if I break this.]
It wasn’t even a threat, it was more of a joke.
Lavella: “He’s a little bastard.”
Lavella crumpled the note with her hand.
Lavella: “Go to the west entrance of the mountain and wait.”
Lavella, who left the cabin, gave orders to her men.
Random Guild Member: “Yes?”
Lavella: “Don’t worry, go ahead and wait. I’ll join you before dawn.”
Random Guild Member: “…Okay.”
Lavella began running northwest after sending her men nodding anxiously.
If it was a trap that someone had dug, it was more convenient to act alone without any subordinates.
Lavella began to see a cabin bigger than the last one while running fast through the trees.
It was a cabin used by the mountain keeper as a warehouse for storing goods.
Lavella, who climbed the tree at a reasonable distance, looked for any movements.
The cabin was enveloped in silence.
Lavella narrowed her eyes when she saw no sign of human presence.
Lavella: ‘Is this a joke too?’
Don’t tell me you’re training me like a dog. That was when Lavella, who came down to the back of the cabin, quietly approached the window frame.
Iska: “You here? Why aren’t you coming in?”
Lavella: “!”
The man who suddenly appeared out of the open window sill was Iska.
Iska: “Nice to meet you.”
Iska leaned his arm against the window frame and bent his upper body and smiled. However, Lavella, who responded instinctively, had already stepped back far away.
Lavella: ‘There was definitely nothing there.’
It felt like goosebumps were running down her spine. She prided herself on being able to read even the breathing of a passing mouse but she didn’t feel his presence at all. Leaving aside her bruised pride, Lavella raised her vigilance.
Lavella: “Why are you here?”
Iska: “Are you glad to see me? You’ve been looking for me.”
Lavella: “No way, this request. Is it yours?”
Iska: “That’s right.”
Iska readily agreed as if he had no intention of hiding it from the beginning.
Iska: “You, you were really the Captain of Kirah.”
Iska tilted his head as if interested. It was the moment when his doubt became certain.
Lavella: “Then the stuff must be a lie, too?”
Lavella, exhausted, loosened her shoulders.
Iska: “Well, that may or may not be?”
Lavella: “…….”
He had a relaxed attitude as if he was going to keep playing jokes.
Lavella: “Ha, what’s the point of playing this joke?”
He was hiding so hard that she couldn’t even see a single strand of his hair. But she couldn’t understand why he wanted to meet her by doing something so troublesome.
Iska: “Well, I wonder?”
Lavella: “No matter how many false requests you make, I’ll get paid.”
Iska: “Of course. I’m also afraid of turning Kirah into an enemy.”
So you gave me money. Lavella, who sighed, lowered the cloth covering her face.
Lavella: “So why did you call me?”
Iska: “Because I missed you?”
Also, seeing how he was acting like a serpent, it seemed impossible to continue having a normal conversation.
Lavella: ‘It’s annoying.’
She appreciated that the prey showed up on its own, but it did not have a cooperative attitude. Then… should I check his skills properly since this happened? Lavella, who made up her mind, quickly threw a commendation.
Iska: “Yikes.”
Iska, who turned around and managed to escape, disappeared into the cabin.
Lavella: Which way?
Lavella focused all her senses to detect movement inside the cabin.
Lavella: It’s that way.
Lavella heard faint footsteps and ran to the entrance of the cabin. Again, the door swung open. However, Iska, who she had expected to jump outside, seemed to hide inside again. At first glance, the intention to lure her in was clear. Instead of going inside, Lavella hid behind the cabin door. After some breathless confrontation, Iska’s presence quickly disappeared.
Lavella: ‘I have to admit you’re really good. By the way, why did you learn skills like this?’
If she just walked away, she might fall into Iska’s view from inside the cabin. However, it was not possible to continue the confrontation blindly. Iska, who excelled at hiding his presence, could have stayed up all night at this rate.
Lavella: The longer this takes, the more disadvantageous it will be for me.
After agonizing over it, Lavella jumped back onto the roof.
Lavella: “!”
As if waiting, the roof collapsed.
Lavella: ‘This is what you were aiming for!’
Her feet had not even touched the roof, so it was clear that Iska was doing it. Even at the short drop, Lavella checked the approximate height to the floor. Although she would not be seriously injured if she fell to the floor as she was, she wrapped her neck and head in preparation for possible injuries. Then-
Iska: “Caught you.”
Lavella fell into the arms of Iska, who was waiting below.
* * *
Lavella: “…….”
This is, really……. It’s so… humiliating. The day had come. Lavella closed her eyes with a depressed expression and narrowed her brows as if she was uncomfortable with Iska.
Iska: “When you look like the world is over like that, I feel like I’m committing a very serious sin.”
Lavella’s eyes gleamed at Iska’s complaint. Lying on the grass, curled up in cloth like a caterpillar, Lavella was brooding over the humiliation she had never experienced before.
Iska held Lavella in his arms and tied her with the cloth he was holding. It was so fast that there was no time to escape it.
Iska: “You’re going to bleed, don’t bite your lips.”
Iska gently stroked Lavella’s lips as if worried. Of course, Lavella tried to bite his finger, so he quickly removed it.
Iska: “Don’t be so angry. Honestly, I’m not sure I can beat you.”
Iska looked pitiful as if he were a puppy in front of an angry beast.
Lavella: “Who are you teasing now?”
She was the one who was tied up, why did he look like that? Lavella, who was dumbfounded, snorted. Still, Iska’s candid remarks made Lavella feel better. It meant that he’s afraid of her as much as Lavella was wary of him.
Iska: “Huh, anyway, I can definitely give you an answer now.”
Lavella: “…….”
Iska, who squatted down, smiled brightly, and met Lavella’s eyes, thinking it was fortunate to see Lavella calmed down.
Iska: “I have the stuff now.”
Lavella: “…….”
Don’t tell me…
Lavella: “……You’re not saying it’s me, are you?”
Iska: “That’s right.”
Lavella bit her lip and closed her eyes tightly. Alas, to fall victim to such trivial little tricks. She was starting to feel bad again.
Iska: “Don’t be so offended. I’ve been working really hard on it.”
Yeah, that’s very comforting. Lavella burst out laughing.
Lavella: “So, why did you do this?”
Iska: “To ask for your name.”
Lavella: “What?”
A vein popped out on Lavella’s forehead.
Iska: “Oh, of course, I have more questions.”
Oh, she must be really angry. Iska, who was a little embarrassed, swallowed a smile and corrected his answer.
Lavella: “…Lavella.”
Lavella, who was glaring at Iska, opened her mouth. It would be difficult to escape in the current state anyway, so it would be better to match the rhythm of this guy and find the gap.
Iska: “Lavella…that’s a pretty name.”
Lavella: “…….”
A red tongue grazed past Iska’s lips as he whispered Lavella’s name.
Lavella: “I told you my name, so can you please release this?”
Lavella pointed at her body with a very seductive gaze. At times like this, beauty was the best.
Iska: “…Why? I like it because it’s pretty sexy and provocative.”
Iska’s eyes widened even more. Not joking, the figure surrounded by white cloth was as pure and beautiful as a fairy of flowers.
Lavella: “…….”
Iska: “…Okay, I’ll ask you a few more questions and let you go soon.”
In any case, it was not urgent. Iska, who was grumbling because Lavella’s eyes quickly became dull, sank down within the reach of Lavella’s gaze.
Lavella: “Yes, that’s rather good. There was something I wanted to check with you.”
Lavella shook her head and muttered. Iska smiled brightly at the dull voice that seemed to have given up and ruffled her hair. Somehow it was too easy, she must have been caught quietly for a reason.
Iska: “What’s that?”
Lavella: “You looked at me and said. ‘Welcome to Imperia’. What did you mean?”
Iska: “Well, it didn’t really mean anything?”
Seeing the man’s refreshing smile, Lavella clicked her tongue. Although he had an ambiguous attitude as if he was hiding something, she couldn’t force his mouth to open because she was tied up.
Lavella: “What do you want to ask?”
Lavella, who promised to answer, handed the next question to Iska.
Iska: “Well, why did you create Kirah?”
The man’s question was more trivial than she thought.
Lavella: “…To make money?”
Iska: “…….”
A bitter silence passed between them.
Iska: “……Really, is that all?”
Iska asked in disbelief.
Lavella: “There’s one more thing.”
Iska: “!”
