Chapter 7
Brought to you by Noir
“chu~ ?!?!?!?!?!”
“Nee-ch-an, what did you just… to me?”
No, I already know what she did.
She kissed.
She kissed me on my lips.
Neiro-san has a look of despair on her face. She even looks like about to cry.
“So you are called Neiro-san if I am correct? Sorata is my dearest otouto, so be sure to never come near him okay.”
[TL note: Otouto: Younger Brother]
Yuuna’s tone sounded very sweet, but that’s just a pretence. In fact, there was no emotion attached to that voice. Yes, It was just a cold-hearted sweet voice.
Neiro-san was absolutely frozen. Not even a word escaped from her mouth.
I wonder if she will say anything.
“Let’s go, Sorata. Leave this thing be.”
“Nee-chan, you shouldn’t talk about her a ‘thing’. Neiro-san is a dear friend of mine.”
“… Eh what? You’re taking this woman’s side …over me?”
“I am not saying anything like that, I am just saying what is normal.”
“Well anyways. Sorata, let’s be on our way now.”
“Uh-okay.”
As Yuuna and I started to walk away, I deliberately let my handkerchief fall out of my pocket.
It fell near Neiro-san. As I picked it up, I said in a small voice to her,
“I’m sorry about Yuuna nee-chan. Let’s talk leisurely at school later.”
Neiro-san nodded readily and looked down. I started walking towards school along with my sister. After walking a while, I turned around and I saw Neiro-san still looking down at the ground.
(Change of POV to Neiro-san)
I am in love with Sorata-kun. It was after a certain incident that I became obsessed with him.
Whenever it would be recess time, I actively talked to Sorata-kun regularly to increase my time in contact with him.
The reason for my infatuation for him was actually quite simple. When I was being hit upon returning from school, he showed up quickly from almost nowhere and…
“What are you doing standing there? Let’s go already.”
Which saved me from that situation.
He isn’t a very good-looking guy but that didn’t bother in the least. Falling in love happens quite suddenly and unexpectedly. Before I knew it, I had already started thinking about Sorata day and night. We eventually became friends and started talking to each other in class.
After a while every other person in our class started calling Sorata-kun and I as ‘mandarin duck couple’ or the ‘lovey-dovey married couple.’
The setting was done. I decided to confess my feelings for him now.
I decided to confess my feelings to him while going to school today. I had sometimes gone together with Sorata-kun to school, thus, I had a pretty good idea on when and where he would show up while going to school.
As I was standing there waiting for him, I saw Sorata-kun walking down the same path. ..and next to him was a…! A woman?!
I quickly hid in the back alley. Then Sorata-kun and that unknown woman walked past me, arm locked with each other.
Why are their arms locked with each other? What about me? …Hey, what about me?
Then what was even the meaning behind that sweet smile you gave me everyday?
I decided to confront them. Pretending it as a coincidence.
“Sorata-kun, good morning.”
Sorata turns around and notices me.
“Good morning. Neiro-san” he replies.
Kyuu~n!
Calm down me! For the time being, I need to do something about this woman over there holding hands with him.
“So Sorata-kun, who is that woman over there next to you?”
Sorata-kun looks at me looking fidgeting.
“She is my onee-chan, Yuna.”
Soraten-kun replies.
[TL note: ‘Onee-chan also means Big sister, but in a cuter way]
She is his onee-chan … well she is definitely older than. And by the way Sorata-kun introduced her, it seems true that she is definitely his nee(-chan).
However, this nee-chan’s eyes were definitely focused on Soraten-kun, looking at him as a man.
She can become troublesome. She even spends more time with Sorata-kun than I do. However since they are a family, they can’t possibly get married and start their own.
However, she feels like having an idea that ‘it’s okay till I don’t let him marry anyone else’.
Maybe, this woman will make sure that Sorata-kun never marries in his lifetime. I can tell that by just reading the look in her eyes.
“Hmm so she is you ‘Ane’, truly?”
[TL note: ‘Ane’ also means big sister, although a bit distant in feeling as compared to Onee-chan]
I know what he said is true, but I still ask him deliberately.
“Yes.” Sorata-kun replies back.
I am so glad.
But there is still just one problem remaining. I understand that this ‘Ane’ likes Sorata-kun more than normal, but still, I can’t forgive her from locking her arms with him.
“Why is it then that your ‘Ane’ has locked her arms against yours?”
“I don’t know either.” An expected reply.
“So even Sorata doesn’t know ‘why’. Excuse me, Yuna—san? Could you please separate yourself from Sorata?”
I got fired up and called Sorata-kun by his first name alone, but as expected it’s so embarrassing! Let’s just call him as I used to.
“I don’t want to.” She answered. A predictable reply.
“Ah now, how can I like this? Sorata is my boyfriend you know.”
I retorted back.
I just said that l should revert into calling him as I used to, but saying this line with a forceful impact was important, don’t you agree too.
There was a lot of exchange that happened after that. And then I was asked by his ‘Nee(-chan)’ to not be so arrogant.
I didn’t want to be told off by someone like her.
I even told her that Sorata-kun is my boyfriend.
But with this, as expected, will this ‘Ane’ also eventually give up?
Just when I thought so, suddenly this ‘Ane’ came right in front of Sorata-kun. And in that moment, I realised everything.
“NO! Wait!”
but it was already too late.
