Ten minutes later, Qin Yiling stuck a cross onto the grave to represent a tombstone, hoping that the Heavens would bless this woman with a speedy reincarnation.
After she finished up with the grave, Qin Yiling took out the letter and looked at it. Since she was going to deliver the letter, of course she had to check out the recipient’s address.
Famous Mountain Village, An Le1 Town, Yan Ze?
“Oh? This person’s name also has the word ‘Ze’.”
Ever since her parents had told her about her fortuitous encounter when she was three years old, she had become particularly alert to the word ‘Ze’. She had inquired further about the term ‘Brother Ze’, which her parents had heard from her own mouth back then, though they weren’t sure if it was ‘Ze’ or ‘Zhe’ at first.
Still, there was a difference in the pronunciation of the two words. It was only after having heard it several times that they could be sure that she was calling out “Brother Ze”.
As for his surname? There was no way to know. Perhaps her three-year-old self had known, but unfortunately, she had lost her memories of that time.
Even though she could time-travel, hoping to find someone among the vast number of people while relying on the term ‘Brother Ze’ as the only information she had was like searching for a needle in a haystack.
Fortunately, the system had a geographical positioning function that could send her directly to the vicinity of her destination. So although she had very little information, narrowing the scope of search to a small area saved her a lot of trouble.
Despite the man in her dreams being covered in grime, his facial features were still mostly visible, so she would be able to recognize him if she saw him.
Qin Yiling cleaned herself up and adjusted her clothes, then picked up her suitcase and went back on the road in search. However, this time, she had an additional mission to find yet another person.
After a while, the sky began to darken as the nights fell earlier in the winter season. Instinctively, Qin Yiling quickened her footsteps. She did not want to spend the night alone in this wilderness as it would be dangerous. She had to find a place to stay as soon as possible, and preferably a place with people.
Because even now, she still had no idea which time period she was in. Not knowing anything felt too unsafe and insecure. She had to obtain information about this world as soon as possible.
But judging from the way the woman was dressed earlier, the feudal dynasty era could be ruled out. Also, the woman did not seem surprised by Qin Yiling’s outfit at all.
Secondly, while the address on the letter was written mostly in traditional Chinese characters, there were also simplified Chinese characters. Putting all this together, it seemed that this world was probably very similar to her previous world in terms of the era and culture.
Qin Yiling sped up her pace while sorting out the limited information she had gathered in her mind. Half an hour later, night had enveloped the entire barren land.
“There’s some firelight!”
Qin Yiling looked at the faint flickering light and was overjoyed. She had almost thought that she would really have to spend the night in the wilderness.
Since there was fire, there had to be people there too.
She jogged forward, and when nearing the firelight, she realized that there was a dilapidated house. Its courtyard walls had collapsed, and even the door was smashed and broken, allowing her to spot the fire burning in the middle of the house.
Qin Yiling walked straight in. She also had no other choice because there were no other houses around. Although this house was shabby, it could still provide some form of insulation from the cold night air, so that she wouldn’t have to freeze to death.
“Who are you?”
Before she could even step into the house, three tall figures suddenly appeared.
