Chapter 4: Opening the Time Tunnel

Mr Qin said in a serious voice, “Darling, these boxes are filled with food and necessities–they will definitely be useful to bring along. It’s always better to be prepared when you’re away from home.”

“Okay. Thanks, Mom and Dad.”

Qin Yiling decided to go along with it for the moment as she didn’t want to turn down her parents’ efforts and concern.

“Duo Duo, get ready!”

Seeing that everything was ready, her mother opened the system interface and activated the time tunnel. Soon, a mechanized voice boomed and a text box popped up.

“Please key in your destination!”

They didn’t have any idea of the time period in that other world. Her mother had no choice but to enter ‘The location in Duo Duo’s dreams’ as their destination.

Her father: “One month!”

Qin Yiling: “Half a year!”

Both father and daughter spoke at the same time, but said completely different things.

Qin Yiling sulked and said, “Dad, what can I do in a month? Do you think I’ll be able to find out what your future son-in-law is like in such little time?”

Her father didn’t know what to say. His daughter’s words did make sense. Some people were deeply private–a person’s character could not truly be figured out in just one short month.

Her mother then said, “I think we should compromise. Three months.”

Three months was long enough to get a handle on a person’s character. If their daughter decided that the man was good enough, then after the three months was up, she could come back and tell them everything. That way, they would be more at ease, letting her pursue her happiness and her own life.

On the other hand, if she really did not get along with him, then spending three months getting to know him so that they could put an end to this would not have been a waste either.

However, she had a feeling that since this marriage was destined by the Heavens, that man definitely wouldn’t be too bad.

“Alright, that would work.” Mr Qin agreed with his wife’s suggestion.

Since her parents had decided, she couldn’t argue with them. After all, she would be able to time-travel again after returning in three months.

As long as the Power Stones were not completely depleted of energy, she would have another chance to travel through the time tunnel.

Her mother set the duration to indicate three months on the system interface. The next second, the mechanical voice boomed again.

‘Time tunnel activated. Ten seconds to go. Ten… nine…’

Only her mother could engage the system’s interface and hear this sound. When she heard the countdown, she hurriedly turned to her daughter.
