- Chapter 3 - If You Put a Leash on Villain Chapter 3
P/N: This is a flashback about her past.
“The truth is, I’m just playing with you.”
It was just like when I had been in Anatolia. Kiries roughly grabbed Eclette’s neck. Eclette’s hands shook like a scared rabbit.
As soon as Kiries let go, she fell and hit the floor hard. In front of them, were people with shackles on their bodies who were trembling with their bruised knees. Among them, there was a woman who she cared about, Railea.
“Ra, Railea….”
Eclette crawled in front of her.
They must have been given a severe beating, there was dust on the clothes. There were signs of blood everywhere. Those who bit their gags were panting at Eclette.
“Oh, what do I do..?”
As soon as she found the blemish on Railea’s cheek, Eclette stretched out her hand with tears in her eyes.
But someone stood in front of her.
“Aww, it’s a game of truth, so you can’t cry okay?”
As Kiries approached the crawling Eclette, he bowed and whispered in a friendly tone. Eclette trembled as if she had heard a sharp voice.
“Who among these tried to run away?”
“…..”
“You have to answer.”
Everyone’s eyes were on Eclette. Unable to speak, they gave a single, pleading look. Begging her to answer ‘none’.
Eclette trembled and gave the answer they wanted.
“Um, none, no one.”
“….”
“No one tried to run away.”
“Really?”
When I met the bloodshot eyes eye-to-eye, my mouth closed.
‘I’m going to be eaten alive.’
I knew instinctively. This man in front of me will kill me if he decides to.
She shuddered with fear, but choked back her tears and firmed her voice .
“Yes….”
“I’ll ask you one last time.”
As he took one more step closer, she saw a face with a sly smile right in front of her. Feeling as if she was about to be swallowed by a large shadow, Eclette had the urge to close her eyes tightly.
“Really they aren’t here?”
As if he knew everything, Kiries asked again. My fingertips trembled subtly. Eclette clenched her hands so she couldn’t get caught. And answered.
“I, I really don’t….”
“Hmm?”
The red eyes blinked beautifully. The hunter-like man smiled to reassure the prey for a moment. The corners of his mouth, which went up smoothly, revealed a cold smile.
Kiries pulled something out from his arms.
“Ki-Kiries-nim!!!”
Eclette, who immediately recognized it, reached out to stop him. But immediately, a ‘bang’ filled the vacant room. As soon as the sound rang out, the man who was shot in the head fell in front of Eclette. The man’s blood slowly began to seep across the floor. Eclette’s complexion paled as she became petrified at the groans of the dying man.
“You have to follow the rules of the game, Eclette.”
Because Eclette lied, Kiries casually killed a man. The dead man’s blood had landed on her chin. Eclette looked down at the cooling body with a fearful expression.
“Why…”
Without even giving her time to feel sad, Kiries pushed.
“Okay, I’ll ask you again.”
“Kiries-nim….”
“Who was the one who tried to run away?”
“Please save them.”
“…..”
“Please keep them alive!”
Eclette begged to save them, not herself. A face stained with tears crawled miserably under his feet. Although she begged pitifully, Kiries looked indifferent.
“The game of truth is not over yet.”
“I’ll do whatever you say. So please don’t kill them….!”
“Then answer me.”
“…..”
“Of course, it’s a promise I plan to keep.”
Kiries never broke a promise he had made with Eclette. Even the small things.
Knowing that well, Eclette blinked her eyes anxiously and swallowed dry saliva.
‘I won’t kill them. I promised.’
Then Railea struggled to get Eclette to see her.
However, being hidden by Kiries, Eclette could not see Railea.
“Well, everything.”
“Tell me exactly who.”
“Everyone tried to run away.”
“Really?”
After wiping away her tears while on one knee, he slowly rose from his position.
At that moment, Eclette instinctively felt something was wrong. She tried to stop him immediately, but it was too late.
Kiries pointed a gun. Then, one by one, mercilessly killed them in front of Railea.
“Ah! Why….!”
Eclette clung to Kiries’s feet like a dog.
“Pl, Please…, Stop I’ll do whatever you want ….”
“….”
“I’ll do everything you want, anything you want… everything.”
“….”
“So please–… please save her…”
I cried out loud. I threw away all my pride and begged.
Kiries, who was quietly looking down at Eclipse crying, said slowly.
“Really?”
“Yes, yes! I’ll do everything. I’ll do anything…!”
Eclette’s face lit up like a child who found a ray of light in the dark.
At that moment, Kiries felt a strange sense of joy. In his eyes, Eclette, who found hope even in despair, was amazing and pitiful.
He slowly bent down to meet at eye level. Purple eyes that give off a subtle gold color and a clear and mysterious light similar to the moon that rose on a dark night. She was a clean and pure child who was not fit for this hell.
Kiries stroked Eclette’s eyes with a grim smile. Hot tears fell on his fingertips. Then he whispered in a languid voice.
“Don’t ever forget that.”
Eclette nodded eagerly, indicating that she would not forget. But for a moment, too, Kiries raised Eclette up and forced her to hold the gun.
“Now let’s try loading the gun once.”
“Ki-Kiries-nim…!”
“You said you would do everything you were told to do. Was that a lie?” Eclette was screaming because in her eyes she was about to kill Railea.
“No! It’s not like that at all!”
“Then grab the gun.”
“….”
“There’s no use in crying.”
In a resolute tone, Eclette grabbed the gun awkwardly, wiping away the tears from her face. Her hand trembled with the gun which was heavier than she thought.
“You hold the gun like this.”
In an affectionate way, Kiries, along with Eclette, grabbed a gun and pointed the gun at Railea.
“Now pull the trigger.”
“Wa-Wait….”
There was another shot before she finished her thought, Eclette stared at the scene with a stiff look. Railea, who she cared for, fell disastrously to the floor. At that moment, time seemed to slow down.
“Ah… why…..”
The situation felt unrealistic. Eclette walked slowly. Railea, bleeding to death, shed tears toward Eclette. She heard a sobbing sound between the soft breaths. Soon the eyes that had lost their light slowly closed.
“Ra, Railea….”
There was no response even if I shook her shoulders carefully. The unbelievable reality shocked her. Eclette hugged Railea and sobbed.
“Railea….. Railea…..”
I couldn’t feel any more warmth. Eclette jumped up and ran to Kiries.
“I TOLD YOU TO SAVE HER!”
Kiries slapped Eclette which made her bleed at the side of her mouth.
Since then, gunshots have not stopped. I couldn’t gaze at their expressions, stained with their fear of death. Eclette covered her ears with her trembling hands. And cried out.
I wanted to save her. But contrary to my heart, I killed them all. I didn’t want to admit it, so I screamed and screamed like crazy. I lost my strength and fell on the floor and wept.
“Eclette, You have to get up.”
“I don’t want to.”
“Eclette.”
“Don’t do this, please…..”
“I didn’t say I would save everything.”
She looked up at Kiries. There was red blood on her white cheeks. Kiries wiped the blood with his sleeve. Her demon, who killed her people, was making a bright smile at her.
“Then it’s time to keep your promise.”
Even after telling you my wish, you couldn’t even honor it.
“You killed them all….”
Only two people, Eclette and Kiries, were alive in the blood-stained vacant lot.
Eclette looked at the dead bodies with a vacant look. The expression on her crying face was that of someone who had lost everything. A hand grabbed her by the jaw.
“I didn’t kill a single one.”
It was all you.
Eclette stared blankly at the red eyes that were darker than blood and smiled helplessly. Something came into mind when I wanted to give up everything.
Eclette pushed Kiries forcefully and grabbed the gun that fell on the floor. And pointed it directly at his head.
“I will die with you…..”
I had no confidence or courage to live. I thought it would be comfortable to die like this.
“Well, you’ll never die.”
Kiries smiled at Eclette with a twisted smile.
If you were a normal person trying to die, would try to kill yourself along with the person who killed your precious person.
Should I call her smart or stupid? I was worried about how to raise that weak child.
Kiries was relaxed even when watching Eclette about to die in front of him. He talked slowly, lightly brushing his chin.
“To be exact, I’m saving two people.”
You and Railea’s brother.
Kiries didn’t miss the small hand shaking a little.
“I don’t know what I’ll do if you die.”
“….”
“What’s for sure is killing that little brother of her’s.
“….”
“Will you still die?”
Eventually, Eclette surrendered to Kiries.
She couldn’t let the younger brother of Railea, who had cherished her, die. As soon as she thought she had to live her life tougher than a bug, Eclette muttered in a quiet voice.
“Why are you doing this….?”
“Why the hell are you doing this to me!!”
“Because I need you.”
Q/C: yeah I need you mentally damaged so you can do what I want. P/N: He needs therapy for the sake of readers. And a great head bashing.
A ruthless man who would murder dozens at his disposal. And myself, killing people at this man’s orders.
Eclette was free from her recollection of the past.* (T/N Flashback ends!)
I wondered whether or not I should kill the man standing in front of me.
“The cake fell.”
P/N: We went from mass murder to cake. Is this a Brother’s Grimm fairytale? Q/C: the French Revolution apparently.
“….”
After greeting, the man looked down at the cake box stuck on the floor. It would have been turned upside down and ruined anyways.
He slowly began to slowly bend down and pick up the box.
“I don’t think it’s the time to worry about the cake.”
You’re in a position to worry about your neck right now.
Eclette was small, but threatening, and put a knife deeper into his neck.
Blood beads formed on the knife. He must have felt pain, but the man didn’t respond.
Unexpected words soon came out.
“Do you want me to buy a cake?”
“What…?”
“I think it’s because of me.”
“…..”
“Shall we go buy it now?”
He cried like an innocent child in a situation where his life was flashing before his eyes.. So Eclette couldn’t figure out what to do.
I thought about killing him like this, but somehow I didn’t want to. Eventually, the sweet weapon (knife) was put into the cake.
“Go on your way.”
I could buy the cake again. But I didn’t have to go with this man.
But things didn’t work out the way she wanted.
“What kind of cake do you like? Cheese? Strawberry? Whipped cream?
P/N: Strawberry Cheesecake! Q/C: Chocolate Mousse Cheesecake!! T/N: Strawberry
“Just go on your way.”
“You won’t be able to eat it because of me, so I’ll take responsibility. “
I was tired anyway, but I didn’t want to get more tired.
Eclette sighed and looked up at the man following her. Eyes were brighter than the sea but darker than the sky, gazed persistently at her.
“I tried to kill you.”
“…..”
“I’ll leave when you finally say good things.”
I didn’t know why he said this. It was out of the blue.
Eclette looked surprised even after he spoke.
‘What made you think that?’
I didn’t know him. Thanks to him, I failed my mission yesterday. I couldn’t understand why he said that in front of me.
The man’s eyes twinkled as if they were interested in how I would deal with it.
“Is it time to introduce yourself?”
“No that’s not it….”
“I’ve never heard of you as a murderer.”
“Wait a minute, Hold on….”
“I’d like to introduce myself differently, but what should I say…”
“Listen to me first…..”
“I want to be your dog.”
Q/C: Excuse me Sir?? What?? P/N: He’s kinky?
Eclette thought she misheard by looking at his innocent look.
‘What did you just say?’
He was laughing furtively when she blinked blankly.
The name is Redwood. You don’t have to give me a name.”
“I introduced myself differently. How do you like it?”
What do you mean? He’s crazy!
P/N: What the… he’s nuts. First, we meet a psycho and now we see a cuckoo. What up with these men and their obsession with the loony bin?!
