Chapter 25: The Title of Planter
When the sun rose, it was a brand new day.
Ye Jun slept until sunrise for the first time.
This was the first time he had slept so soundly since the game had started.
Before on the raft, he always had the fear of rolling into the sea if he wasn’t careful, and the fear that at any moment a breeze of wind or a giant wave might just capsize the raft.
Now with a ship, it was secure, and he finally had some peace of mind.
Looking at the doll sitting not far away, Ye Jun remembered the inexplicable dream he had last night, and inconspicuously, he kicked the doll into the sea. This thing was still best used in the sea.
Ye Jun washed up and changed his clothes.
On the ship, he could finally clean up his image.
The first thing he did every day after waking up was to check-in.
“Checked in successfully, received a light bulb!”
In Ye Jun’s hand, an old-fashioned incandescent light bulb appeared.
‘What’s the use of this thing?’
Ye Jun tried it out and released a trace of electricity from his fingertips.
Instantly, the light bulb surprisingly lit up.
However, the light quickly flickered away.
“Pop!”
The tungsten filament in the bulb broke and the glass turned black.
It blew up!
Sure enough, it was a useless piece of junk.
This wasn’t the first time he’d checked in and gotten some useless junk.
He hadn’t gotten anything good from checking in for the past few days.
Ye Jun grabbed another bulb out of the cabin.
This was what he got for checking in yesterday.
“Solar bulb: absorb sunlight and it glows. Wherever there is sunlight, it glows, and without sunlight, it won’t glow!”
Ye Jun placed it at the entrance to the cabin, and a faint glow illuminated the bilge.
In the bilge, there was a wooden box covered by the cloth of the parachute.
From the outside, it was impossible to tell what was inside these wooden boxes, but there were droplets of water seeping through its exterior.
Ye Jun uncovered a wooden box at random, and surprisingly, there were beans inside.
Beans filled the box, some of which seemed to have broken open and had faint sprouts sprouting up.
The bilge was stuffy and humid, so it was surprising that these beans showed signs of sprouting in one night.
“Ding! Soya beans sprouted, congratulations for earning the title of Beginner Planter, rewarded one portion of Strange Soil (able to accelerate plant growth) +10 Endurance, +10 Strength.”
‘Beginner Planter?’
As expected, apart from combat classes, there were non-combat classes in this game.
At this moment, Ye Jun’s mind was filled with a lot of knowledge about planting. It could be said that he was now no less knowledgeable than an agricultural expert.
Some of the previous planting methods that were all based on imagination blended instantly, and the advantages and disadvantages of each of them were clear at a glance.
Ye Jun covered the beans and sprinkled some water on them.
In a few days, he would have bean sprouts to eat.
Back on the deck, Ye Jun replanted the vegetable seeds he planted yesterday according to the new knowledge in his head so that the germination rate would be greatly increased.
As for this Strange Soil…
Ye Jun looked at the pot of soil in front of him. It looked to be around ten or so catties, black all over, and there were many small translucent and sparkling particles inside.
‘Where is the best place to use this soil to speed up the growth of plants?’
There was too little to use on the vegetables so it wasn’t worth it.
The only thing that it could be used on was either the Strange Fruit Tree or the Strange Blood Tree.
Ye Jun thought about it and poured the soil in the wooden box where the Strange Blood Tree was planted.
Instantly, the Strange Blood Tree began to glow, and inside the wooden box, the red tint in the soil from the blood poured over it began to fade.
Soon, the color of blood disappeared and the blood inside was absorbed.
As expected, this soil stimulated plants to absorb nutrients and grow faster.
Ye Jun was beaming with joy. He didn’t lack blood; he got several buckets of blood from shark hunting yesterday!
Ye Jun carried a bucket of blood directly to it and poured it down.
The Strange Blood Tree smelled the rich scent of blood and swayed excitedly, surprisingly giving birth to a few more roots, which rooted itself in the blood and absorbed it frantically.
Not long after, there was a blood-colored fruit forming on the branches of the Strange Blood Tree, and it seemed that it could be harvested today.
Originally, even with sufficient blood to water it, the Strange Blood Tree would take four or five days to bear fruit, but now the duration had been surprisingly shortened by five times.
The effect was impressive!
Ye Jun went to do other things at ease.
He went to the stern to feed the electric ray and took an electric shock for a +10 Electrical Energy in passing.
With that done, he started smelting the ores and began forging.
All that shark meat was sold out yesterday, and his supplies were replenished again.
He obtained all kinds of fruits, wild vegetables, mushrooms, wild eggs, and so on from trading.
On top of that, he got a few hundred pieces of iron ore.
For other players, ore was all but useless at this stage, no different than regular food, so it was worth it to exchange for food.
These iron ores weren’t suitable for forging weapons, so after melting these ores, Ye Jun planned to forge a ship anchor.
A ship couldn’t do without an anchor.
When searching for supplies at the bottom of the sea, he could use the anchor to hold the ship in place and completely scavenge the sea, unlike before where he couldn’t even collect one-tenth of the copper ores.
The sound of striking iron rang out.
“Ding! Smelted iron ore, +2 Iron Ingot. +1 Forging Proficiency.”
The deck was incomparable to the raft, not only was the surface larger, but it was also more stable.
Ye Jun raised the furnace higher and larger, allowing him to smelt more ores at once, and thus increasing his forging speed by several times.
A day had passed, and Ye Jun had already obtained more than 30 iron ingots.
Additionally, the Strange Blood Tree was ready for harvest.
Ye Jun plucked the Bloodline Fruit from the Strange Blood Tree but he didn’t rush to take it, instead he contacted Yang Tianxing.
Previously, Yang Tianxing had said that his sister Yang Chengcheng had a special bloodline—the Body of Fire Energy.
Ye Jun wanted to see if there were any side effects from eating the Bloodline Fruit on the human body.
Yang Chengcheng had a special bloodline of her own, making her the perfect test subject.
The sun hadn’t completely set on Ye Jun’s side of the mountain yet, so it was still dark on Yang Tianxing’s side near the Arctic Circle.
Inside a simple shelter enclosed in wood, a campfire was burning and the two siblings were boiling fish soup in an iron bucket.
He didn’t expect Ye Jun to send a message this late.
Yang Tianxing was somewhat surprised, and when Ye Jun gave the information about the Bloodline Fruit, Yang Tianxing shook his head dryly and said:
“Brother Ye, I admire you and consider you as a friend, so I’ll be frank. If this matter concerns me alone, I would say nothing and stick my neck out. But when it comes to my sister, I can’t agree. I can’t endanger my sister.”
Yang Tianxing certainly didn’t want his sister to take the risk.
Life was a little harder now, but he now had nets, he could hunt, cut down trees, and gather supplies; the two of them had no problem surviving simply.
“Brother, I want to try!”
On the other hand, Yang Chengcheng was very calm and spoke very decisively.
